Modesto’s new Wal-Mart grocery store has put out the “Help Wanted” sign.
The Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market at Orangeburg Avenue and Coffee Road has opened a temporary hiring center next to the store site. The store is to open Sept. 19 and has about 80 positions to fill.
The hiring center began accepting applications Monday and will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays at 1221 E. Orangeburg Ave., Suite 7. Officials said the center should be open until the end of August. Interested candidates can apply online at www.careers.walmart.com.
Store manager Rhonda Otero said full- and part-time workers will be hired. She said employees are needed to work in all areas of the new store, including supervisory positions.
