Wal-Mart Stores Inc. will hire about 95 people to work at a Walmart Neighborhood Market scheduled to open this fall in Rocklin.
The retail giant has opened a temporary hiring center across the street from the site of the new store. The hiring center at 5514 Pacific St., Suite 180, will accept applications from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, a news release said. Applications also can be filled out online.
The store is seeking workers for a variety of jobs, including cashiers and stockers, deli and bakery workers, and people to handle maintenance and manage inventory.
Most of the new hires will start work this month to get the store ready for its grand opening. Although Wal-Mart did not disclose an opening date, city economic growth manager Karen Garner said the grand opening is Sept. 18.
Wal-Mart is converting a former Albertsons location at 5609 Pacific St. for a 50,000-square-foot store. Albertsons moved out of the space in 2006.
